According to a second superseding indictment in the federal case against the Murdaland Mafia Piru gang, a Bloods set based in Northwest Baltimore, the gang's boss, Dante Bailey (aka "Gutta") murdered Murdaland Mafia Piru member James Edwards, aka "Bangout," using the same .40 caliber firearm he had discharged at the BP gas station a few days before, shooting at three men who were pumping gas.
In the same federal indictment against Dante Bailey and members of the Murdaland Mafia Piru Bloods set, prosecutors say fellow gang member Dontray Johnson killed Brian Johnson, AKA "Nutty B," because Brian refused to pay gang dues.
In the indictment, prosecutors also allege that Bailey and fellow gang member Jamal Lockley killed Anthony Hornes, a 34-year-old African-American man, on April 28, 2016, because they falsely believed he was responsible for the murder of Maurice "Mookie" Braham.
Federal prosecutors also allege that Bailey "directed the murder of Ricardo Johnson based on the belief that he was cooperating with law enforcement. On or about August 10, 2016, Sydni Frazier and one or more co-conspirators abducted, bound, and murdered Johnson, and then attempted to set his body on fire. Later that day, Frazier fled from police and discarded two murder weapons—a Smith & Wesson 9mm . . . and a Taurus 9mm" handgun.

A jury convicted Keith Davis Jr. of the murdering Kevin Jones, a 22-year-old African-American man who was shot just before 5 a.m. as he was heading to work as a security guard on June 7, 2015. Later that day, police shot Davis, after he hid in a garage allegedly after trying to rob a hack cabbie. The case became a cause célèbre for local activists; Davis claimed he had been minding his own business, unarmed and listening to headphones, when police rushed him. The gun they recovered in the garage had Davis' palm print on it though, and a ballistics expert claimed it was the gun used to kill Jones. Before he was charged with Jones' murder, a Baltimore jury acquitted Davis of robbery, but convicted him of illegally having the gun (prior criminal convictions bar him from possessing a firearm). He is serving a five year sentence for that, and now faces much more time for the murder.
