Freedom Of Speech Is A Fundamental Pillar Of A Free Society
First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Freedom of Speech Is Under Siege by Big Tech
Freedom of speech—the cornerstone of a truly free society—is under relentless attack by Big Tech giants like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and others.
These platforms, which once promised to democratize information and give everyone a voice, are now selectively silencing those who speak outside the bounds of their preferred narratives.
Creators are being censored, shadowbanned, or demonetized simply for using common words like “knife,” “gun,” or “murder.” Even more troubling, if you express an opposing viewpoint to the political narrative being promoted at any given time, you risk being penalized or deplatformed altogether. These are not obscene or unlawful terms—they are part of everyday language, regularly used by mainstream media, academic institutions, and in private conversations without consequence. So why the double standard?
The Founding Fathers designed the First Amendment with the understanding that a healthy republic depends on open, honest, and sometimes uncomfortable debate. The “public square” was never meant to be sanitized of controversy; it was meant to be a space where differing perspectives could be heard, challenged, and debated. Suppressing speech based on political convenience is not just unfair—it’s un-American.
The truth is, independent voices—citizens, creators, researchers, journalists—are being punished not because their words are harmful, but because they challenge the dominant political or cultural viewpoints endorsed by Big Tech and their corporate backers. These tech oligarchs have effectively become gatekeepers of acceptable thought, deciding what can and cannot be said in the public square. They hide behind vague "community guidelines" while enforcing rules arbitrarily and disproportionately, targeting those who question, dissent, or speak too boldly. This isn’t just about losing ad revenue or having content taken down. It’s about a broader effort to control public opinion by silencing dissent. And it’s dangerous.Any platform operating at this scale, influencing the lives of billions, should be held accountable to the same constitutional values that govern our democratic institutions. Free speech is not a privilege granted by corporations; it is a right endowed by our Creator and protected by the Constitution. No unelected CEO or faceless algorithm should have the authority to decide which ideas are valid and which are not.
If we allow Big Tech to continue down this path unchecked, we risk losing the open internet, independent thought, and the ability to speak freely without fear. It’s not just about politics—it’s about principle. In a free society, controversial speech must be protected, because freedom means nothing if it only applies to safe, popular, or approved opinions.
If someone disagrees with what they hear online, they have every right to ignore it, challenge it, or turn it off—but they do not have the right to silence it for everyone else. That’s not moderation; that’s manipulation. And it must stop.
It’s time to push back against this growing culture of censorship and demand transparency, fairness, and accountability from Big Tech. Open dialogue isn’t dangerous—it’s essential to liberty, progress, and truth.
