The Chosen People of GOD
People of the diaspora have not changed; they are Hebrews. When the LORD GOD delivered them out of the bondage of the Egyptians by a pillar of cloud during the day and a pillar of fire by night, He fed them with manna from heaven and quenched their thirst with water from a stone. Yet as soon as times became difficult, they were ready to go back to Egypt (Numbers 14:4). Today, GOD delivered the descendants of the diaspora from the worst form of slavery in all the annals of history (Deuteronomy 28). He brought them into a nation flowing with milk and honey and charged them to keep the covenant He made with their fathers. What do they do? They worship any god except the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They not only turn to Egyptian gods but also to new‑age gods, mystic religions, gnosticism, and in some cases no god at all.
