Baltimore Deserves Better: When Loyalty Becomes Blindness

 Mayor Brandon M. Scott

 updated his profile picture.

Baltimore is so proud of this Mayor who keeps them in poverty and their city looking like a war zone. But they don't know nothing different, sad!

They love the mayors picture but when I look at it all I see is

When I look at our current mayor, I don’t see leadership.

I see a man invested in the downfall of a city he’s sworn to serve for personal gain, except for one place—Park Heights, where he grew up. That’s the only place he seems to care about. The rest of Baltimore? He’s left it to rot.

But Baltimore loves him.
Why?
Because we’ve never known anything different.
Because our loyalty has become our curse.
Most people don’t even vote. And the ones who see clearly? They’ve stopped believing their vote matters.

The last time we saw anything resembling meaningful progress was under Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Since then, it’s been downhill—fast. Our current mayor has shut down local voices and opened the gates to white elites who aren’t here to save Baltimore, but to strip it bare and repurpose it.

They're buying land. Holding it. Locking it down.
Why? So when the dust clears and the bulldozers come, Baltimore won’t be a chocolate city anymore—it’ll be another gentrified metropolis like D.C.
The city’s 56% Black majority? Displaced. Disregarded. Disposable.

And the wealthy Black elite?
They’re not fighting for the community—they're just waiting for their piece of the new pie.
Renting oligarch-owned penthouses. Shopping at boutique stores built on the backs of displaced families.

This new class of “New Negro” is short-sighted and shallow.
They’ve traded vision for vanity.
Fluff for substance.
They'd rather pose for pictures in front of broken buildings than rebuild them.

Here’s a radical thought:
Kick this mayor out.
Elect someone who will put Baltimore’s Black community first.
Let’s build another Atlanta—a Black-led city with ownership, enterprise, and dignity.

But that requires political maturity.
It requires people to want more than just good looks, charm, and a Democratic label.

This mayor isn’t a puppet for the people.
He’s a puppet for white liberals, gangbangers, and developers who don’t live here, don’t care, and don’t intend to.

Baltimore’s people don’t talk about self-love, community value, or rehabilitation anymore.
All they know is pain wrapped in promises, poverty wrapped in photo ops, and opportunists disguised as champions.

Just look at Kurt Schmoke—Obama’s best friend, once hailed as a pioneer. He opened the door to the crack epidemic in Baltimore and now he’s president of UOB. They celebrate him, while generations of families are still paying the price.

Now they’ve elected a new “Demoncratic” governor, boosted by an Obama endorsement. He inherited a $5 billion surplus from the Republican administration. In under a year? Gone.
Maryland now sits in a $3.3 billion deficit.
So the question is: Where did $8.3 billion go?

The people of Baltimore and Maryland have been hypnotized by beauty and buzzwords.
They don’t question, they don’t demand answers, and they certainly don’t hold anyone accountable.

As long as you're Black, Democrat, and look good—you can do what thou wilt.

SAD.

He who has an ear let him hear!

Y'all don't hear me though;

This is
